Member schools are encouraged to send student athletes who currently are, or intend to become, student leaders in your school.  Each school team must be accompanied by at least one adult supervisor.  The first 800 applicants will be accepted for this year’s conference.  Student athletes entering grades 10 through 12 for the 2007 fall semester will be eligible to participate.

Conference Activities

National Speakers - Three national level keynote speakers will present timely messages during the general sessions.

Multiple Workshops - Three separate breakout sessions will be provided for participants.  Over thirty different topics per session will be available.

T-shirt exchange – Once again we will be conducting a t-shirt exchange.  Participants are encouraged to bring a school t-shirt in their size, to exchange with students from other schools.  Students who would like to exchange multiple t-shirts are encouraged to do so.

Participate in a Service Project – The IHSAA is partnering with the Indiana Sports Corporation in order to donate gently used athletic equipment to underprivileged students in communities around the state.  The equipment is distributed FREE to not-for-profit youth-serving organizations in central Indiana in an effort to make sports more accessible to underserved youth. Through the IHSAA Leadership conference schools will have the opportunity to participate in this program to help get serviceable sports equipment to kids who need it, while competing for exciting prizes.  The items donated from each school will be weighed and the winners will be determined by the greatest total weight of items.  First prize will be four tickets to an Indianapolis Colts game, and second prize will be four tickets to the Big Ten’s Women’s Basketball Tournament.

Raffle – Prizes will be awarded throughout the day.  All participants will have an opportunity to win.

Meals – Conference staff members will serve a continental breakfast prior to the start of the conference, and lunch.  Snacks will be provided throughout the day.

Student Advisory Committee Application – Student athletes who attend the IHSAA Student Leadership Conference will be eligible to submit an application to become a member of the 2008 IHSAA Student Advisory Committee.  An application will be included in the conference notebook.
